thesis blues
POSTED AT 03:55 PM

Two weeks after the deadline, I still haven't passed my third journal report, which is the final leg prior to the actual thesis.  (Sigh.  If I didn't admire my professor I could've strangled him by now.  Sir Deca thank your stars!!!)  Things are getting increasingly frustrating.  I'm stuck as far as the direction of my thesis is concerned.  Now I am searching the net for insights on green accounting - a topic I hope I will be able to stick to.   Not that I am really interested in it: I wanted to pursue a topic on informal logic, but my prof wants the class to channel our energy into, errrrr, pragmatic pursuits.

I wanted to lunge into the very murky CARP program at first, but then I found out that it'll be too cumbersome and too risky to pursue.  First I would have to stack up on laws dating as far back as pre-Spanish colonization; then I have to get hold of articles that present actual figures on CARP, lest I want to skate my way with assumptions, which I do not want to get caught doing.

So goodbye CARP.

Hello green accounting.

foreign serials
POSTED AT 07:43 PM

This morning I went to the foreign serials section of the library to unearth philosophical journal articles I could use for my thesis.  Unearth, yes, because there are about 20 philo journals available, with each one dating as far back as 19-tra-la-la.  Unearth, because with every journal I took from the shelf my fingers (and my shirt) became dirtier and dirtier - which made me a tad sad.  There's this whole room of would-be knowledge here, if only we'd take the time.  There are people I know who dismiss philosophy as purely academic and theoretical, and boy if only I could share with them some of the articles I've seen!

Flyff
POSTED AT 06:45 PM

I'm at the net shop right now with my hubby.  We just finished playing Flyff, and I'm proud to say - with a noob heart - that I am now a level 56 mage.  Yeeeey!!! Four more levels to go and I'll be able to take my second job change quest.  Then I'll be a psykeeper.  That is, if we don't jump ship. (We're planning to check out Perfect World.)

Listening to: Fergie - Big Girls Don't Cry (nice!)
Feeling: happity-happ
